"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined:" Henry David Thoreau.
Tavascia, Dominic (February 7, 1932 - December 3, 2017), after a brief but valiant battle against congestive heart failure. Dearly missed by Erika, his wife of 57 years, his daughters Robyn (Santo) and Renée, adored Grando to Cole, and much loved brother to Ann, Irma, Lena and the late Mike. Also sadly missed by Dave, his friend since GCVI, Guinness, Welly, Kumar and many relatives.
Dominic was born in Nova Scotia but lived most of his life in Guelph. He worked at General Electric where he was able to showcase his love of photography on many business trips to India, Pakistan, Africa and New Zealand.
After he retired, Dominic camped with his hiking buddy Art, photographing a wet moose in Algonquin without tipping their canoe. He was a fan of the Chicago Blackhawks, hiking Starkey Loop, golf, billiards and reading hefty biographies or 'door stoppers.'
As per Dominic’s wishes there will be no funeral service but donations can be made in his memory to the Guelph Humane Society or CARE Canada.
