Stroud, C. Francis "Frank"

STROUD, Charles Francis - Born June 27th, 1946 in Milton, Ontario and passed November 4th, 2018 at Guelph General Hospital.
He was better known as Frank, Franko, Abe, or Pops to all his family & friends of which he had many. He was loud, proud, witty and funny and you could always hear him coming from a mile away, as he always whistled, no real tune, just whistled! In the latter years he exchanged the whistle for continuously saying “Whatta Deal!”. His first love was trucking, which he did for many years with MacKinnon Transport and when his job was sold to another company, he started working part-time for Doyle Transport until his car accident on January 3rd, 2017. He was well liked by his co-workers at both companies and always had a ready smile and usually something smart to say to see what reaction he could get out of them. On his days off he worked on old cars with his friend Little Frank and re-modeled a couple of houses with his wife Arlene and step-children, Trevor and Colin, and also helped many of his neighbours on Ridgeway Ave with their projects (as long as he could be boss) and loved having a coffee or two with his great friend and neighbour Peter. He was never the same happy guy after his accident in 2017 and eventually succumbed to cancer. Frank has asked that his ashes be strewn along the highways he so loved and his wish will be granted and as Frank would say...WHATTA DEAL!
We will have a get together with friends, family, co-workers and old neighbours in the spring of 2019, the date will be announced in the Tribune, so keep an eye out for it.
Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051/wallcustance.com).
Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

A tree will be planted in memory of C. Francis (Frank) Stroud in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 2:30 pm
