KUDO, Kazuko (Kathy) (nee Matsubara) -
Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington following a brief illness on Sunday, April 7, 2019 with her family by her side, in her 90th year.
Beloved wife of the late Roland Kudo (2003). Loved mother of Ken (Nicole) and Don (Caroline). Loving grandmother of Naomi, Alexandra and Catrina.
Dear sister of Shizuko Ota (Masanobu), Haruko Miyata (Tsutomu) and Tadao (Yoshiko) Matsubara. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Predeceased by her parents Keitaro and Sumino Matsubara and her siblings; Takeo (Yoshiko), Haruo, Nobuo (Yoneko) and Hideo Matsubara.
Kathy was born in Steveston BC and raised in Amakusa Japan. Upon her return to Canada, she lived in Winnipeg MB before marrying and raising her family in London ON. Her retirement years were enjoyed in Owen Sound ON and finally residing in Guelph ON.
Kathy was a great cook and a talented dressmaker. She enjoyed spending time at the local Y, socializing, swimming and playing volleyball. As a proud gardener, quilter and stained glass hobbyist, she was a member of community clubs and took part in tours and shows.
Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Friday, May 3, 2019 from noon until 2 pm. A service to celebrate Kathy’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2 pm. Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Hospice Wellington would be appreciated.
