Rutledge, Hazel A.

RUTLEDGE, Hazel Annabel –
The family of Hazel Rutledge announce her passing on April 17, 2019.

We will miss her loving care and concern for all of her family. She loved us extravagantly and tirelessly and we are saddened that we will no longer have her in our presence as we journey through this life.
Hazel was born in Murtaugh, Idaho on June 30, 1928 to Fred and Hazel Tattersall. She was the youngest in a large blended family and was the last living member of her generation. Her mother died shortly after giving birth to Hazel and she was blessed to be adopted by her Aunt Gertrude and relocated with several of her siblings from Idaho to Uxbridge Ontario.
Hazel met her beloved husband Harold in Toronto and they were married on August 15, 1953. Hazel and Harold celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this past year surrounded by family. Hazel was devoted to Harold and her whole family which includes; sons, Kevin and Mark and daughter Carol Anne. She was also delighted with and felt blessed by her seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. In addition Hazel was a cherished part of a wonderful extended family which included many brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Monday, April 22, 2019 from 6-8 pm.

Funeral service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 454 Arkell Rd., Puslinch on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 1 pm. Reception to follow in the church hall.

Memorial contributions to 100 Huntley Street (Crossroads Canada) would be appreciated.

We are feeling great comfort and peace knowing that our dear Hazel is finally home. Her struggles and pain are over and she is now enjoying the presence of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus, who was constantly in her heart and mind and whose name was regularly on her lips during these weeks of hospitalization. We will not grieve or sorrow like those who have no hope. We look forward to the day of reunion that will take place - “When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be.”

A tree will be planted in memory of Hazel A. Rutledge in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 2:30 pm.
