Gladys Mary Sutherland (Horsman)
Gladys Sutherland, 94, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2019, at The Elliott Long Term Care, Guelph, Ontario. Born December 2, 1924.
Loving wife of Marven Sutherland, for almost 75 years. Survived by her children Wayne Sutherland (Anna), Toronto, Marlene Irvine (Ken), Elmira and daughter-in-law Edwina, Ottawa. Predeceased by her son Rick (2014). Also survived by her grandchildren, Kevin (Julie), Stuart (Shelley) and Brent (Kate) Irvine, Susan (Stephen) and John (Cassie) Sutherland and great grandchildren Axel, Rachel, Owen and Eli Irvine, sister-in-law Beatrice Fairweather, (Moncton), and many nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Hazel and Clive Horsman. Predeceased by her siblings Mildred, Joyce, Jack, Allen and Truman.
She loved her family unconditionally and it was the focus of her life. She enjoyed volunteering, cheering on the Blue Jays, cross stitching and playing euchre.
A special thank you to the caring staff at The Elliott Long Term Care for the love and compassion shown to Gladys over the past three years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, Guelph. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. A memorial service officiated by Pastor Mike will be held at The Elliott Community, 170 Metcalfe St., Guelph, on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 11 am. Donations in her memory may be made to The Elliott Community, Guelph, Ontario.
