Masiuk, Peter J.

MASIUK, Peter J. - Passed away suddenly, in his 65th year, on June 5, 2020 at the Guelph General Hospital. Beloved husband and best friend of Shari, Father to Joel Steffler, Shawn Steffler (predeceased) and amazing grandpa (Pa Pete) to Deegan, Carson, Colten, Reveah and Nira, who he loved dearly. He will be especially missed by his two best friends, his babies Oliver and Olivia (dogs). Peter will also be greatly missed by his brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father, Stephen Masiuk and his mother, Margot Masiuk, sisters Linda and Anna and brother Paul. He is survived by his brother Edward. Peter was admired and loved by anyone who had the pleasure to know him. He had a wonderful sense of humour, and he really liked to share it. Peter would do anything for his family and friends. One of his favourite places to go was Tim Horton’s. He loved to stop by Tim Horton’s for a coffee for him and Timbits for the doggies. They would usually go along for the car ride. The staff was always happy to see all of them. Peter spent a large part of his career doing what he loved, driving truck. In addition to the driving, he really liked the interaction with people. He has loved working for Laidlaw Transport for the past 8 years and he will be missed by many people. At Peter’s request, cremation has taken place and there are no funeral services to be held. Peter is at peace and back home with Shari and his babies. Peter gave the Gift of Life by being a donor through the Trillium Gift of Life Network. Peter’s donation will help to improve many people’s lives. Special Thanks to Guelph Wellington Paramedic Service, Fire Services and OPP. All of the First Responders were remarkable, but an extra Thanks to the Paramedic Team. Special Thanks to Anne Hougham, Dr. Chang and the Emergency Department Staff at the Guelph General Hospital. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
