GAGNON, Jean Marion (nee Thompson)

Of Kitchener, passed away peacefully at Freeport Hospital on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, in her 89th year.

Beloved wife of 68 years to the late Bernard Gagnon (March 2020). Cherished mother of Laurie Tkautz (Jim Ziegler) and Lynn Gagnon. Very proud Nana of Chris Tkautz (Bronwyn), Michael Tkautz (Martha), Matthew Koretsky, Melissa Koretsky (Ryan) and Brandon Bye (Jasmine). Great grandma of Sophie, Gemma, Olivia, Jaxson and Fredrick. Dear sister of Carl (Liida) Thompson, Lana Thompson, Linda (Wally) Dore. Predeceased by brother Doug Thompson. Will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A sincere thank you to the staff at Freeport Hospital, Palliative Care Unit. A special thank you to Kelly and Helen who made mom’s last days comfortable.

At Jean’s request, cremation has taken place. An intimate service for family will be held at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Saturday, August 29, 2020. Private interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

A tree will be planted in memory of Jean M. Gagnon in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum.
