WINFIELD, (Alice) May – Passed away on May 10, 2022 just a few weeks shy of her 95th birthday.
May was predeceased by her husband Jim and is survived by her children Evelyn (Colin), Janice (Ian) and Greg (Roma); her grandchildren Kevin, David and Jamie; and great grandchildren Ethan and Maryssa. Born, raised and residing her entire life in Guelph, May outlived all of her siblings and in-laws with her keep going attitude.
Her work life revolved around Hammond Manufacturing and simultaneously for many years operating the snack bar at the local Bowlerama. Maybelle as she is known to her family, enjoyed a few weeks each summer in the 60’s with the Delany’s and McDougall’s at Ipperwash and family holiday dinners, hanging out with the Kelly’s in town, card playing with “the girls” from Club, pitching in at Westminster-St. Paul’s and opening her doors to all and sundry, all the while keepin’ on keepin’ on. She spent the last few years of her life in Residence at Norfolk Manor where the staff did their best to keep her comfortable and safe.
