WATSON, Clayton Leroy – Passed away at Allendale Long Term Care Residence in Milton, Ontario on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from complications related to Parkinson’s disease.
Leroy, age 80 years, was the son of the late Clayton Joseph and Meta Ruth Watson (nee Marston). Pre-deceased by sister-in-law Penny and brother, Robert Wayne (Fern). Survived by brother Sherman Blair (Penny), sister Carla Grant (Wayne), nieces Kristine, Erin, Michelle, and nephew Mitchell. Fondly remembered by Helen Watson.
Leroy was a member of the Royal Canadian Navy 1961-1964, then employed at International Steel 1965-1969. Joining the Guelph Fire Department in 1973 and achieving the rank of Captain before retiring in 1999. After retiring Leroy operated Rockwood Material Handling utilizing a Stone Spreader system in support of the construction industry.
Thanks to the staff at Georgetown Hospital who provided care for Leroy during his initial health crisis. Allana of Mississauga-Halton HSCC for her guidance in preparing for long term care. Milton General Hospital for providing efficient and professional care to Leroy. The Allendale staff in Bronte House for the exceptional and compassionate care they provided to Leroy.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Leroy’s Life will be held at a date to be announced. Arrangements entrusted to WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com).
In lieu of flowers, if desired, the family would appreciate a donation to The Georgetown Hospital Foundation, Milton District Hospital Foundation, the Willow Foundation or a charity of your choice.
A tree will be planted in memory of C. Leroy Watson in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
