KNAPP, David George – Passed away peacefully at St. Josephs Health Centre on January 10, 2021.
Loving and cherished husband of Maureen. Beloved father to Alan (Leonora), Carol (Frank), Ella (Billy), and Susan (Colin) and stepsons John (Esther) and Adrian (Helen). Loving Grandpa of Alex (Monica), Sophie, Matthew, Adi, Morgan, Braeden, Christian Warren and Jovaan Ross. Poppa Dave to Jack, Duncan, Gabriel, Maggie, Lliam, and Adrian. Great Grandpa to Isaah, Zion, and Kingston. Loving son to the late George and Ethel Knapp.
Will be missed by brother Barry (Shirley) in England and sister the late Jean, (Barry) in Australia.
Dave was born in 1934 in Southend-on-Sea England, immigrated to Canada in 1957, started his career in Montreal and made a move to Guelph as plant manager at Moldcraft Plastics. Eventually retiring as project manager from Guelph Tool & Die.
Dave was a man who enjoyed life, he loved music often breaking into song and could always be heard singing in the shower. Dave was very handy and was always willing to do a proper job so long as there were cups of tea. Dave loved to socialize and spent many happy hours playing bridge, chess, scrabble and poker. Dave had many hobbies but was passionate about cars and could often be found tinkering with his Jag., he also loved an evening at the track. Dave was a cricketer as a young man and loved the game, he enjoyed a game of golf and was also a good tennis player well into his later years. Dave will be greatly missed by all who knew him as he always brought laughter and great conversation to everyone.
Dave’s family would like to send many thanks for the care he received while he was at St. Joseph’s Health Centre.
