George, Dorothy Lynda – Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington on September 19, 2022 at the age of 78.
Beloved wife of 42 years to Ken. Loved mother of Danny (Brenda) Summers, Christy George (Warren Ferguson), and Charity (Mathew) Eisenberger. Loving grandmother of Miranda (Gerry), Erica (Ryan), Joshua, Everleigh, Presley, Toby, and soon to arrive baby Millie. Great grandmother of Noah, Emmery, Summer, and Eve. Dorothy is predeceased by her parents Mildred and William and her sister Ruth. She will be missed by many extended family members and friends.
Dorothy loved going to the casino and spending time with her family. She was a social butterfly and was loved by her community. She was affectionately known as the “Zehrs Lady” at Eramosa Road.
A private family service has been held. A public celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.
Memorial contributions to Hospice Wellington would be appreciated.
A tree will be planted in memory of Dorothy L. George in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.

The family of Dorothy George would like to invite you to attend a celebration of life service in her honor. In her 20+ years as a cashier at Zerhs on Eramosa, and previous 17 years as a nurse at Guelph General Hospital, she connected with so many people in our community. We invite you to brighten our lives in our time of grief by sharing your happiest memories of Dorothy. Feel free to drop in for a few minutes or stay for the whole time.
We will also have a donation box for Wellington Hospice to make honorable donations in Dorothy’s name. Cash and gift cards are welcome and appreciated.
