Providing Cremation and Funeral Services to Guelph and Area since 1941.
ROACH, Dorothy Mae – Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at Guelph General Hospital on Monday, January 2, 2023, at the age of 90.
Beloved wife of the late Herbert J.F. Roach. Dear mother of Pamela (Joe) Jennings-Grimwood. Proud Nana of Mason and Maxwell. Predeceased by her son, Gerry and her parents Maude and Harold Lever.
Growing up in Toronto, she attended secretarial college and worked for a time for United Church House. Always a sports lover, she enjoyed Leaf games with her father, watching from the gold seats, as well as a good CFL game, forever a fan of the Calgary Stampeders.
Dorothy and Jim moved to Caledonia in the 60’s to operate their own business and enjoyed many great friendships, games of Aggravation, dances at the legion, and Sunday lunches at Hewitts while raising their family.
Since moving to Guelph, she adored watching her grandsons play hockey. Always needing to know the score and how well the team was doing. She would spend every chance she got with them, taking them to hockey practice, to school or just enjoying an afternoon in their company.
She enjoyed her time volunteering at both the Evergreen Seniors Center and Riverside Glen. She could always be found doing a word search, reading a good book, 100’s during the pandemic, or watching her favorite sports of hockey, curling, figure skating or football.
Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com).
Memorial contributions in memory of Dorothy to the Foundation of Guelph General Hospital would be appreciated.
A tree will be planted in memory of Dorothy M. Roach in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
