Providing Cremation and Funeral Services to Guelph and Area since 1941.
SUTTON, Dorothy (Barclay) – Passed away peacefully, at Hospice Wellington, Guelph, on Thursday, August 27, 2015, 10 days after her 97th birthday. Predeceased by her loving husband, Arthur Leslie (1998). Beloved mother of Anne Hetherington (Don), Laurie Turner (Toby Fletcher) and Chris Trottier (Ken), cherished grandmother to Kregg (Danielle), Erin (Campbell), James, Michael and Kerrie, and adored “G.G.” to four great grandchildren, Sadie, Dylan, Alexia and Thomas. Born in Saskatoon, Dorothy grew up in Vancouver, where she met her childhood sweetheart, Art. They raised their family in Toronto, but kept in close contact with the Barclay clan including nieces and nephews, Marilyn, Don, Nancy, Bob, and especially Alan (Pat) who visited often. On their retirement, they moved to their country home in Erin, Ontario, and finally moved to Guelph. Dorothy will be remembered as a kind soul, a gracious hostess, an enthusiastic bridge player, and an avid reader by her many friends in the Village by the Arboretum, at Wellington Park Terrace, and at Dublin United Church. Memorial celebration service to be held at Dublin United Church, 68 Suffolk St. W. Guelph, on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. (reception to follow in the church hall). The family would appreciate memorial contributions to be made to Dublin United Church, or Hospice Wellington, Guelph. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 519-822-0051 or www.wallcustance.com.
