Elizabeth (Betty) A. Messner

MESSNER, Elizabeth (Betty) (nee Reilly) – Loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully at Riverside Glen Retirement Home on April 2nd, 2025 in her 88th year. 

Beloved wife of William (Bruce) Messner for 65 beautiful years. Cherished mother of Rodney (Brenda), Nancy (Jim) and Brent (Trina). Fun loving grandmother to Patrick (Steph), Chelsea (Evan), Holt, and Connor (Dominika). Betty is survived by her siblings and in laws Don (Teresa), Helen, Pat, Fran, Marilyn, Dave (Anne) and Raymond. Pre-deceased by her brothers Bob and Doug. 

Betty and Bruce enjoyed spending their winters in Florida for 20 years. They lived in the same house on Bedford Road for 63 years with many fun days in the back yard pool. Betty was always a hard worker and held several jobs but was most proud to have retired from Imperial Tobacco after 24 years. Betty had many talents including cooking, baking, sewing, quilting, knitting and antiquing.

Betty was devoted to her family and kept her great sense of humour to the end. She will be dearly missed.

There will be a Memorial Visitation on Thursday, April 10th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph.
