SOULE, George Fredrick – Passed away peacefully at Guelph General Hospital on Friday, November 19, 2021 at the age of 84.
Beloved husband of 63 years to Grace (nee Liggett). Loved father of Bill (Kathy) of Guelph, and Glen (Marilyn) of Langley, BC. Adored grandfather of Jennifer and Lyndsay Soule of Guelph.
George was an eleventh generation Mayflower descendant born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan and moved to Guelph as a young child. He was predeceased by his parents Clyde and Anne Soule and sister Eleanor (Ron Mutrie) and brother Wayne (Betty) both of Guelph and by brother Marshall of British Columbia. He will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law Betty Mae Soule of BC and Doreen Brown of Guelph. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
For 43 years, George was proud to be a driver for Guelph Transit. He made many friends on the job as he understood that the secret to success was to be “helpful and courteous” and make “every day a good day” (a quote from George in The Guelph Mercury article when he retired).
George enjoyed cruises, camping, fishing, woodworking, gardening and spending time with family and friends. He always had a treat for any four-legged friends.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date when it is safe to do so. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.
A tree will be planted in memory of George F. Soule in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
