KING, Gordon James – Passed away peacefully January 7, 2021 with family by his side at the Guelph General Hospital.  Born 88 years ago in Toronto.  Loving husband and friend of Norma for 63 years.

Cherished father of Karen (Keith Robertshaw) and Sandi (Chris Magor).  Devoted Grandfather of David Robertshaw (Caralee), Matthew Robertshaw (Kiersten), Melinda Toonk (James), Fiona and Tamsin Magor, loving Great Grandfather of Eden, Lila, Arya, JJ and Wesley Robertshaw.

Gordon will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, the children of his sister Lynn White (the late Fred) and his deceased brother Steve (Judy).

Professor Emeritus in the Animal Science Department, University of Guelph with 30 years of service.  From 1973-1996 he also worked as a consultant for the United Nations (UNESCO, the Food and Agriculture Organization, the UN Development Program), the IAEA, CIDA and various universities around the world, working to improve agricultural productivity and agricultural education programs in many countries.

Gordon loved work, golf, travelling, sports cars, hiking, and family – not necessarily in that order.

Cremation has taken place at Gordon’s request and a memorial gathering will be announced later once gatherings are allowed.  Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.

As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the Mennonite Central Committee, whose excellent work he often observed overseas or OVC Pet Trust, another organization he supported.
