Harold Kenneth Embree (Ken) passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025 with his family by his side.
Ken and his wife Suzanne (Sue) moved to Guelph in 1969.
Ken (husband, Dad, Papa, Pops, Great Papa, brother, uncle, friend and Doc) was responsible for delivering thousands of babies into this world and providing many surgical services. He was known for his amazing bedside manner and humour; and his jokes and stories were enjoyed by all. Ken was also involved in a local sports store (Paramount Ski & Sports) for a number of years, which became his second passion.
Ken was very proud of his wife Sue of 65 years, his 4 children and their spouses (Kevin and Catherine, Michelle, Scott and Lisa, Anne and Ryan), his 13 grandchildren (Caitlin, McKenzie, Taylor, Daniel, Matthew, Ryan, Blaire, Ashley, Carter, Autumn, Harrison, Jocelyn, Owen) and 11 great-grandchildren (Avery, Lincoln, Ella, Lauren, Brooks, Bennett, Nina, Holly, Eden, Summer, August).
Ken is survived by his brother Barry and sister Marilyn, who both meant so much to him. Ken will be joining his brother Norm for some fishing and hunting trips just like the good old days.
Ken’s love for golf, skiing/snowboarding, hunting, fishing and being outdoors will always be remembered.
We will remember Dad/Papa/Great Papa as someone who always put everyone else ahead of himself.
Ken reminded his family that words need not be said, as we are all in each other’s hearts and spirits.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.
If you so wish, donations can be made to the Foundation of the Guelph General Hospital, Ducks Unlimited or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
A tree will be planted in memory of H. Kenneth Embree in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
