HELMUT FREDERIC LOEWEN

May 23, 1936 – October 19, 2025

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness, that we announce the passing of a well-loved Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather & Great Grandfather. He will be greatly missed.

Helmut is survived by his wife Ann, son David (Toni) and daughter Amy (Carlo), step-children Jeanette (Sam) and Michael (Sarah), grandchildren: Jacob (Heather), Zachary (Bronte), Emily (Brock), Stephen, Aidan, Jennifer, and Malcolm and great grand children: Levon and Henry. He also leaves behind siblings: John (Mary), Loretta (Don), and Randy (Robin). Helmut was preceded in death by his wife Margaret (née Farr) and sister Bertha (Don).

Helmut was an avid gardener and enjoyed the outdoors. He lived for life’s simple pleasures, and enjoyed hiking, cycling, curling, barbecues with family and friends, games of golf and trips to sunny Florida. In his spare time he enjoyed creating beautiful stained glass panels and lamps.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME, 206 Norfolk St, Guelph at 2 pm. Followed by a reception.  Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.

In lieu of flowers, donation would be appreciated for the Scott Mission.

A tree will be planted in memory of Helmut F. Loewen in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest at the Arboretum of University of Guelph.
