FRANSSEN, Ida Henderika (nee Vanderlaan)
After a short period with liver cancer, Ida Franssen, surrounded by her loving family, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Monday, February 2, 2026 in her 79th year.
Ida will be deeply missed by her loving husband and best friend, Arnold of almost 34 years of marriage. Her loving children Karen (Rick), Sid (Michelle), Doug (Rachel), and Heather (Charles) will miss her voice and reassuring conversations. She will also be missed by Arnold’s children: Jan (Laura), Jeff (Christine), and Shannon (Matt). She was a special Oma to David, Denise, Nadine, Melinda, Rebecca, Nathan, Evan (Laloni,) Jacob, Sterling, Brier, Ethan (Tia), Seth, Maya, Elise, Ysla and Theo, and a loving Great-Oma to Evangeline.
Loving sister of Don ꝉ (Siny ꝉ), Andrew ꝉ (Rose), Abel (Hetty), Margaret (Herman) and Peter (Marlene).
Visitation will be held at Emmanuel Canadian Reformed Church, 8037 ON-7, Guelph/Eramosa, ON N1H 6H8, Ontario, on Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 4-7 pm. Funeral Service will be held at the church on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 11 am. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 762 Woolwich Street, Guelph, ON N1H 3Z1. Luncheon to follow at the church. All are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Hospice Wellington or World Vision would be appreciated.
