AYRES, Jack C. R. – It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Jack Ayres on January 12, 2023, surrounded by his family at home, in his 85th year.
Loving husband to Sheila (Keegan) for 65 wonderful years. Proud father to April (Gerry), Carol (Ron), Janet (Ben), Jack (Kay) and Brenda (Roger). Cherished grandfather to Ryan (Penny), Dave (Sarah), Angela (Connel), Dominic, Robert (Katie), Gavin, Brandon, Cole and Paige. Beloved great grandfather to Chance, Kaleigh, Madison, Caiden, Ava, Amelia, Evelyn and Olivia.
Big brother to Betty Rudd and Joan Hilliard. Predeceased by parents Jack and Audrey, son in law Gerald Anderson and grandson Dominic Longo.
Jack was a great provider for his family. He cherished every moment with family and friends.
He had a gift of making people feel comfortable and welcomed. He was a terrific friend with a witty sense of humour. We’re all so lucky to have had a patriarch like him in the family. His love of family will live on through all of us.
Family and friends will be received for visitation at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 9:30 – 11:00 am. The memorial service will begin at 11:00 am. Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre.
Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated.
A tree will be planted in memory of Jack C. Ayres in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
