Jacob (Jake) C. Bakelaar

September 6, 1939 to July 1, 2025

We are comforted to know that Jake completed his earthy travels and is now in heaven. Married to Joanne (Norg) for 56 years, father of Carolyn (Marc), Amy (Kevin), Marge (Curt), James (Kari). Grandpa to Evelynn, Danielle (Kenny), Liam, Meghan, Alyssa, Joshua, Andy and Lincoln. He was one of nine brothers, son of Adrianna (Huyer) and Jan Bakelaar (predeceased). He was an uncle to many and a very special friend to all who knew him.

His joyful smile and generous heart will be greatly missed.

Friends will be received at Water Street Church, 287 Water St, Guelph, on Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 7:00 – 9:00pm. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, July 11 from 1:30 – 2:30pm with the funeral service starting at 2:30pm. Reception to follow in the church hall. Private interment will take place before the service.
