Jeanne Evelyn “Marie” Dell, 1923-2024
DELL, Jeanne Marie – Passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord Jesus at the Elliott Community in Guelph, in her 102nd year, on May 28, 2024.
Beloved mother of Rev. Michael Dell (Gilda) and Maureen Smith (John) of Oakwood, Ontario. Predeceased by her husband, Capt. John W. Dell, CD, in 2002. Beloved grandmother to Matthew, Heather, Aaron, Jennifer and Justin, and a great- grandmother, as well as a friend to many in Niagara and Lindsay.
Jeanne was a Stratford girl, the loving daughter of Mertis and Herbert Frazer, and devoted sister to Ila, Betty (missionary to Africa), Jack and Ken. After her marriage to Jack in 1946, she was a dedicated wife and helpmate as he navigated his military and business careers in the Niagara and Queenston area. They enjoyed many trips to their beloved England. In retirement, they moved to Lindsay and found great satisfaction in their new location. Jeanne focused on entertaining family, offering help and friendship to many, and had a great talent for needlepoint, which she enjoyed immensely. Both Jeanne and Jack were longtime members of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian church in Lindsay. Jeanne also enjoyed her time at Calvary Pentecostal church.
Michael and Maureen wish to thank Dr. Ruddock and the nursing and recreation staff at the Elliott for their dedication, care, and compassion to Jeanne over the last five years. The Paisley floor nursing and PSW staff are especially thanked for their love and service.
