Providing Cremation and Funeral Services to Guelph and Area since 1941.
PIPES, John Leslie – June 10th, 1946 Windsor, ON – January 9th, 2023 Guelph, ON.
It’s with profound sadness that we say our final good-bye to John Leslie, loving husband to Barb (Morgan), and cherished father to Susan (Matt) Fulton and Jodi (Shaun). Adoring Papa to Abigail and Olivia, brother to Sheila (Sauve) and Jim, Barb (Hastings) and Tom, brother-in-law to Brad (Lori) Morgan, Bob (Sherry) Morgan. Beloved uncle to Brianne, Bryce, Tara, Joey, Michael, John, Jim and their families. Loving god-parent to Melanie and Mike Lowden (also Big Brother to Bob). Much loved by extended family and friends in Muskoka. We mourn the loss of a loving, kind, and gentle man, blessed with a caring family, many friends and wonderful neighbours.
John was employed by the Windsor Ford Motor Company (70’s and 90’s). He worked at National Trust and served as Mortgage Manager in Hanover, Barrie, Hamilton and Chatham, preceded by his employment with Major Reality (in the early years). John enjoyed being part of the congregation at Holy Trinity church in Chatham and volunteering his time with members during various occasions.
We celebrate John’s great sense of humor and gregarious personality. He was willing to help anyone at any time. He was a wonderful father and grandfather who shared his love of nature (especially birds), keen sense of history, classical movies and crazy jokes with everyone!
In memory of John, listen to the birds, go for a hike, practice your green thumb, keep in touch with family and friends and be thankful for all of the little things. For our family and many friends who kept us going these past few years, we are truly grateful for your ongoing support.
The family is grateful for the compassionate care provided by Barnswallow Place Community Care.
We plan to have a celebration of Life for John to be announced at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com).
Donations in his honour can be made to Parkinson Canada or the Alzheimer’s Society Canada.
A tree will be planted in memory of John L. Pipes in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
