COOK, Julia Lynn – Of Guelph, passed away at the Guelph General Hospital on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the age of 62, surrounded by her family with love.
Julia was the devoted and loving mother of Brianna Cook, Trevor, Natalie and Adam Cowell. Loving daughter of Elizabeth Hazell. Loving mother-in-law to Kevin Earle, and Melissa Cowell. Dear sister of Rob and John Hazell (Sylvia). Loving grandmother of her grand-dog Frank. Predeceased by her dear brother Ross Hazell and Father Bert Hazell. Proud Aunt of Dustin Hazell (Sarah).
Our beautiful mom gave us everything in this life. Her dedication to her family, her children and her friends, was her main pride and joy. Julia loved the beach, dipping her toes in the water and going for long walks on the sand. She was a fabulous cook, baker, seamstress, craft-maker, artist, scrapbooker, crochet-queen, jewellery maker, quilter, and a pro at refinishing furniture into something new and beautiful. Her creativity fuelled her to always be designing a new project.
She founded her own interior design business, Interior Motives, and took great pride in helping others make their homes and spaces look beautiful and feel welcoming. Her time working with the ladies at Colour Your World was also a highlight in her career.
We are so grateful to have had 5 beautiful years together, after Julia suffered a stroke in 2019. Her strength and perseverance inspire us still, and we are so happy to have made some incredible memories with her during this time.
She loved music, loved to dance, and loved to be surrounded by those she loved. She had a fabulous sense of humour, a beautiful smile and the biggest heart. We are going to miss her forever. We love you so much Momma!
We would like to thank so many of her friends for their ongoing support of our Mom. Teasha, Steve, Cindi, Pina, Barb, Maureen and Paul. A huge thanks to her care team at 85 Neeve St. and Guelph Independent Living. And thank you to Dr. Gregoire and the ICU team at GGH.
