BOSBOOM, Julia M. – It’s with a shattered heart that we share the news of Julia’s untimely passing on January 1, 2023. She passed suddenly but peacefully in her sleep due to a rare and aggressive form of leukemia (API).
As each minute, hour and day passes, we are doing our best to process this unfathomable loss. I think it’s fair to say that we will never make sense of it.
To know Julia, was to know Julia fully. She was unapologetically herself all of the time. She lived life to the fullest. It wasn’t unusual to hear her say “life is too short” as she would enjoy each moment, drink the best bottle of wine or make a spontaneous decision to experience something new. Little did we know her way of living was a harbinger for how and when she would leave this earthly world.
Julia was a deeply spiritual being, with an enormous heart. If you had space for her, she had a multitude of space for you. She lived her life with the passionate view that what was meant to be, would be. For those of us left behind, it’s hard to embrace the meaning of this right now.
I will close with some words from Julia, written not long before her passing.
“I won’t be far away for life goes on.
And if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can’t see or touch me, I will be near.
And if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear,
All my love around you soft and clear.”
Julia Maria Bosboom, a beautiful soul and free spirit.
Left this earthly world far too soon. Never forgotten.
