PAXMAN, Lennard – Of Guelph, passed away at St. Joseph’s Health Centre on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the age of 101.
Beloved husband of almost 79 years to Pat Paxman (nee Davis).
Loved father of Richard and the late Tony.
Loving grandfather of Kevin Paxman, Michelle Vandebelt (Bart), and Andrea Varcoe (Brian).
Great grandfather of Wolfgang Vandebelt, and Brody and Kyla Varcoe.
Predeceased by his parents Charlie and Daisy Paxman.
Lennard enjoyed betting on the favourites at the local harness racing tracks, watching soccer (“football” to him, rooting for Manchester United), and going to see shows (most recently raving about the performance of “Crazy for You” in Cambridge), Until a fall a few months ago that led to his passing, he was still at 101 able to drive and take care of the household chores, and would not have heard anyone suggest otherwise. A firm believer in “if you’re not on time, you’re late”, he was often a half hour to an hour early for all his appointments.
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.
The family would like to thank St. Joseph’s Health Centre for the true compassion they showed in his final hours and those following his death and ask that in lieu of flowers donation be made in Len’s name to their foundation (https://foundation.sjhcg.ca/).
A tree will be planted in memory of Lennard Paxman in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
