Providing Cremation and Funeral Services to Guelph and Area since 1941.
MORAN, Lesley – Passed peacefully on Tuesday, March 7th at Riverside Glen in Guelph, Ontario at the age of 66.
Eldest child of the late Mary & Ronald Moran. Loving mother of Daniel (Hyunan), Matthew (Sarah) and Jane (Ben). Dear sister of Stephen, Kathy (Rob), Peter (Karoline), & Elizabeth (Craig). Supportive aunt of Katarina, Marco, Clayton, & Garret. She will also be dearly missed by previous husband and close friend Paul Brownlee, as well as many friends, acquaintances, coworkers and caregivers.
Born November 12th, 1956 in Sarnia Ontario, Lesley attended Northern Collegiate Institute & Vocational School. Lesley’s drive and passion culminated in academic excellence.
Lesley left Sarnia for the University of Toronto where she graduated in 1987 with a B.Sc. Biology & M.Sc. Resource Economics. Lesley and Paul eventually moved to Guelph to raise their family. Lesley continued to work at Gambles Ontario Produce, then Maple Leaf Consumer Foods before her diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease in 2016. She resided at Riverside Glen for the last 5 years of her life, supported by her loving family.
She was an avid gardener, taking great pride in her backyard. Sharing her love of gardening with her neighbours, she often helped them with theirs. With a love of the outdoors, she enjoyed family camping and cottage trips, sitting by the lake, cycling, hiking, and swimming.
Lesley volunteered during the early stages of diagnosis at the Alzheimer’s Society, helping raise awareness and assisting with events. Lesley always had a positive attitude and joyous spirit. She was found often dancing with friends, family and residents, always making light in dark times.
