PAEZ, Libertad “Liby” Angelica – Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at Guelph General Hospital on Sunday, January 28, 2024, in her 83rd year.
Beloved common-law spouse of the late Eleazar Briceno. Loved mother of Adaluz, Claudia, Mariela, Maria, Jose and Ramiro. Loving grandmother to 11 grand children and great grandmother to 1 great grand daughter. Dear sister of Santiago.
Owner and chef of Latino’s Restaurant in Guelph for 25 years. Courage was in her blood and she proved that many times over. By herself, she packed up 6 children and escaped from a dictatorship to rejoin with her husband in a new country. Nothing could stop her when she decided to do something. Her love for food, resilience, and determination were instrumental in providing a good life for her family. A few days ago she said “I had a good run. It’s time to rest now” and in the words of Edith Piaff “Je ne regrette rien”. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com).
