Date of Death: November 27, 2021

WARNER, Lina –

It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Lina Warner (nee DiFilippo) announces her peaceful passing on Saturday, November 27, 2021. Lina will be lovingly remembered by her husband Wayne Warner, her daughters Gemma Warner-Savio (Roberto Savio) and Cassandra Warner (Matthew Lamers). Lina will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren Nathaniel and Cameron Savio.  Dear sister of Josie Gibson (John).

Lina was born on December 31st, 1948 in the town of Casalbordino, region of Abruzzo, Italy.  She immigrated to Canada with her parents at the age of two and eventually her family established a home in Oakville, Ontario. She was the eldest of 5 siblings and played a significant role in their upbringing. Lina attended Thomas A. Blakelock High School and continued her studies in Chemical Engineering at Ryerson University, Toronto. Lina first owned and operated two Radio Shacks before switching careers to work at Gulf Research. Lina also joined her husband Wayne in real estate for a period of time. She eventually returned to entrepreneurship owning retail gift stores SoapBerry Shop and Body and Bath II for the past 30 years. She was adored by her customers and formed many lasting friendships along the way.

Lina was an intelligent, loving and graceful person. She enjoyed the outdoors, taking walks with her friends and family as well as puttering around in her garden. She was an avid reader and loved to watch her children and grandchildren in any sport or activity they were involved in.

In keeping with Lina’s wishes, cremation arrangements have been made at WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 519-822-0051/www.wallcustance.com.  A private Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday December 11th, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Guests may attend remotely via Zoom by using this link.

If desired, a donation to Juravinski Hospital Cancer Centre Foundation or The Mark Preece Family House would be greatly appreciated.  Lina’s family would also like to thank Dr. Marcaccio and the team overseeing her care at The Juravinski Cancer Center in Hamilton.

A tree will be planted in memory of Lina M. Warner in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
