O’HEARN, Maureen (née Wicks) – Of Guelph, passed away at Guelph General Hospital on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, after a brief illness.
She was the beloved wife of Russell O’Hearn. Loved mother of Carole Ann (Mario), Terry (Cathy) and Timothy (Ann). Loving grandmother of Leslie, Michelle (Dan), Michael (Alanna), Gavin, Whitney (Billy), Kristen (Kyle), Ryan, Allison (John). Great grandmother of Hunter, Aiden, Alana, Ashlyn, Silas, Eva, Shannon and Meghan. Dear sister of Jack and Earl Wicks both deceased.
Maureen was a strong and independent woman. Before her time, she was a career woman and loved to learn new things — like becoming a pilot in the 1950s. She was creative and mastered a number of crafts – quilting, decoupage and doll making among others. She always enjoyed the family cottage, travel and family events with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She will be missed.
A Cremation has taken place. A private interment will be held in the future. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.
Memorial contributions in Maureen’s name can be made to the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada (Guelph).
A tree will be planted in memory of Maureen O’Hearn in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
