TIMBERS, Mildred (Millie) Ann – It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mildred (Millie) Ann Timbers on Sunday, November 5th, 2023.
Millie was born in Glen Williams, Ontario on January 25, 1935 to Arthur and Ann Norton. Millie and her twin, the late Lillian Horton (2000) were the youngest of 7 children. Married to the late Terry (Edward Terrance) Timbers on June 4, 1955. In 1964 they moved to Guelph to raise their children, the late Joanne Ware (2022) and Terry Timbers.
Millie was an exceptional and dedicated Mother, Nana, Great Nana, Aunt and Great Aunt. She was devoted to her family, and friends. She was known for her generosity, always trying to help those in need. Donating her time at Hospice Wellington as well as the Royal Canadian Legion in Guelph.
Millie was known for her love of crocheting, camping and her phenomenal memory of people. In Millie’s 88 years, there are few individuals she would not remember by name, with specific details of the meeting. She always had many stories to share.
Millie was very proud of her family, always supporting them through life’s journey. Her late brother Kenneth Wellington Norton was killed in action November 5, 1951 in the Korean War. Millie was the first and only direct family member to visit his final resting place in Busan, Korea (2014 & 2019). She recently made arrangements to donate his medals to the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa.
For those that knew Millie, she was small and mighty. We will miss her loving caring nature, strength, wisdom, knowledge and her passion for life.
Survived by the family she loved to the moon and back. Son Terry Timbers, Son-in-law Tom Ware, Grandson Ryan (Amy) Ware, Granddaughter Kristen (Alex) Ware-Matejic, Great Grandchildren Gracelyn, Jaxson, and Elizabeth, many Nieces and Nephews including Carol (Wally) Stacey, Ken Horton, Jennifer Stacey, Valerie (Patrick) Harrington.
