Providing Cremation and Funeral Services to Guelph and Area since 1941.
TURNBULL, Norman Wesley – Norman passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at the age of 94.
Father of Gary (Linda), Carol (Jim), and Ken. Loving Grandfather of Kyle, Christopher, Farael, and Lanova. Norman was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Shirley Helen Dunn.
Norman was born in Verdun in Montreal. He met Shirley while skiing in the Laurentians. They married in 1954 and raised their family in Pierrefonds, before moving to Guelph in 1974. Norm worked for Nortel until his retirement.
A lover of the outdoors, Norman enjoyed camping, skiing, and sailing. He was a skilled woodworker, photographer and a dedicated gardener. He could often be found in his favourite spot, sitting in the backyard with a well worn book, soaking up the sun.
He will be fondly remembered by the Turnbull and Dunn families and the many neighbours and friends he shared his love of life with.
Norman has been cremated. According to his wishes, no ceremony will be held. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com).
A tree will be planted in memory of Norman W. Turnbull in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
