FRANCIS, Patricia Karen – Pat passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 16th, 2025, at Hamilton General Hospital, at the age of 69 years.
Predeceased by her parents, Stan and Jean Francis. Beloved sister to Lee McDermott (Mike), Jean Gilbertson, and sister-in-law to David Goodman. Predeceased by her sister Lynn Goodman and brother-in-law Jim Gilbertson.
Pat will be missed by her nieces and nephews Jen McDermott (Tom), Jim McDermott (Teresa), Michael McDermott (Morgan), Julie Brasil (Dan), and Rob Gilbertson. Pat truly cherished her great nephew Dominic, and she proudly displayed all the amazing artwork he shared with her. Kaley, Eric, and Brodie kept their great aunt Pat up to date with the latest trends, and they always enjoyed a good banter and comparing their heights during her visits.
Pat was a proud employee of Canada Post for more than 30 years. Throughout her life, she surrounded herself with animals and would come for a visit with her Cairn Terrier, Gizmo, who recently crossed the rainbow bridge in late July. Pat was fiercely independent and lived life on her own terms. Pat’s laugh, kindness, sense of humour, and culinary skills will be missed by many.
The family extend their appreciation and thanks for the wonderful care, Pat received from the Doctor’s, nurses, and social workers at Hamilton General Hospital.
Cremation has taken place. Interment was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery. To honour Pat’s wishes, no further services are planned. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.
The family would appreciate donations in memory of Pat be made to the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation or the Guelph Humane Society.
A tree will be planted in memory of Patricia K. Francis in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
