MESHAKE, Rene – Passed away at Hospice Wellington on November 26, 2024 at the age of 76.
To my dear husband Rene – there is no word for good-bye in Ojibwe. There will never be another Rene (Mishoomis). Husband, father, artist, musician, AI explorer, storyteller and language keeper.
Rene was born in Nakina, Ontario in 1948 and his Odena was always in his traditional homeland of Pagwashing, Aroland and Long Lake in northern Ontario. Dearly loved by wife Joan, son Aaron and daughter Kim.
Funeral service will be held at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 1:00pm. For those who are unable to attend but wish to watch the service remotely, you can do so via YouTube by clicking this link. Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre. Interment will be held at Marymount Cemetery, 5400 Sideroad 6 S, Guelph.
