Richard James Anderson
January 18, 1963- April 18, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Richard James Anderson on Friday, April 18, 2025, at the age of 62. He leaves behind his loving mother, Sharon Anderson; his sister, Cindy McFadden (Brent) of Dresden; and his brother, Alan Anderson of Nova Scotia.
Richard was a proud uncle to his nieces, Kristen (Curtis) and Carol (Tyler), and his nephew, Scott (Kali) all of whom he held close to his heart.
He was predeceased by his father, W. Keith Anderson (2022); his grandparents, Horace and Anne Blyth and Leafa Anderson; and his aunt, Sandra Boles (2024).
He will be lovingly remembered by his Aunt Peggy and Uncle John Benvie, Uncle Rob and Aunt Brenda Blyth, Uncle Dave Boles and several cousins. Richard also shared a special bond with close friends Alison, JoAnne, Janice, Patrick, and Meghan, who will dearly miss his warmth, quiet strength, and loyal friendship.
A lifelong farmer, Richard had a deep connection to the land and took immense pride in his crops and cattle. Though quiet by nature, he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. His generous spirit and kind heart touched many. Every connection Richard made was important to him. He often shared stories about his hay customers and greatly valued the horse and cattle farmers he worked alongside.
The farming community has rallied around our family during this difficult time, with neighbours offering help without hesitation, something that will forever be appreciated and never forgotten.
Richard’s absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited Richard’s mom, helped with the barn chores, or brought food. Your thoughtfulness and care mean so much to our entire family.
Richard will be remembered for his great sense of humour, his kindness, and his selflessness. What he saw as simple acts of neighbourly kindness had a profound impact on many. He will be incredibly missed and forever cherished by the many lives he touched.
We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to all the first responders and members of Victim Services for their compassion, professionalism, and support during an incredibly difficult time. Your efforts have been deeply appreciated and will not be forgotten.
