Robert J. Cleghorn

CLEGHORN, Robert J. – It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Cleghorn announce his peaceful passing on August 29, 2024, age 83.

Predeceased by parents William (Bill) and Harriet Cleghorn.  Bob is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years Carolyne (Tovell).  Dear father of Rob (Lisa), and Lee Anne (Shawn).  Bob was the loving grandpa of Garret (Kaitlynn), Alyssa (JR), Carson and Lauren, Jacob and George will also miss their great grandpa.  Also survived by brother Alan (Helen), Marie (Gerry), brother-in-law Nate (Kim) and Nancy (the late Wayne). Also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Bob proudly served his community as Councillor and Deputy Reeve for (the former) Guelph Township for many years.  His life’s passion was the farm. Bob will always be known for being a true gentleman farmer, outstanding in his field.  Of course, his favourite colour was green because “Nothing runs like a Deere”.

Bob and his big smile will be missed by all those he touched in his life.

He will be forever in our hearts.

A tree will be planted in memory of Robert J. Cleghorn in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
