FOUNTAIN, Roy Donald – Roy peacefully passed away on September 01, 2023, in his 77th year with his children by his side.
Roy is predeceased by his beloved wife Joanne (2017), Father Ken (1987), Mother Ruth (2021) and older brother Bob (2013), he was a big brother to Brian and uncle to Kenny. Roy will be greatly missed by his children Todd (Sandra), Kim (Ken 2014) and Joe (Melina) and grandchildren Lacey (Jessie), Taylor, Makenzie, Mitchell and Maria as well as his great grandchildren.
Roy was born in Huntsville and moved to Guelph as a child with his family. He worked many years at Redi-Rad and then drove delivery truck for Rockwood Roof Trusses. He was a hardworking man and always put 100% into everything he did. He was a self-taught mechanic, he loved working on cars and after he retired spent most of his time helping out family and friends. There wasn’t a car he couldn’t fix. He enjoyed roaming around Nicklin’s Auto wreckers looking for parts and going to Guelph Auto Parts to see how he could stir things up. We would like to thank all the guys behind the desks for always keeping dad smiling and knowing just what a great guy he was even when he razzed them.
Roy often spent his days feeding his many squirrel buddies in the front yard on Walter St. He made many friends over the years and was blessed to have great neighbors. When Joanne passed away his Walter Street family were right there to support him. He cherished these relationships, and our family is grateful for each and every one of you.
We would like to extend a special Thank you to Dr Ruddock and Dr Heather Schafer for all your support and understanding, Riaz at Surrey Prescription’s for going above and beyond to make sure dad had a clear understanding of his meds and seeing dad through to the end, and to Milt Brock. Dad thoroughly enjoyed working on your car and Monday morning visits they meant more then you’ll ever know.
