Providing Cremation and Funeral Services to Guelph and Area since 1941.
WRIGHT, Ruth Jeanne Patricia – Of Eden Mills, formerly Oakville, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at the age of 93.
Beloved mother of Randa Wright. Loving grandmother of Morgan Bessey and (Rachel Kubacki) and Cameron Bessey and (Sandra Samman) and her dear friends Madison Kelly and Nora and Shelley McVea her niece. Long time faithful friends of Jacqui, and Judy, Gloria and Al. Dear Aunt to Linda, Colin, Robyn and Mark. Loved wife of the late Gordon Wright.
Ruth had so very many beloved and dear friends, it is impossible to list them all here. Her Bruce Trail hiking friends of the Pathfinders in Oakville, students she taught, and other teachers in her decades of teaching public school in Oakville at Maple Grove Public School, her Church friends, her Rockwood Seniors Group, relatives and friends all across the world.
Her great love was hiking. She completed the Bruce Trail twice late in life in her 70’s and 80’s, receiving two End to End badges of which she was so very proud. Nature and the camaraderie of friends combined to give her so much joy.
Poetry and journalling, and posting letters was another passion of Ruth’s. Her poems were always greatly loved and enjoyed and some were published as well.
An amazingly vibrant eternal spirit, who dearly loved her family, friends, her extraordinary life and the world. Living every single day of her time on earth with purpose, kindness, love and determination.
Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 519-822-0051 or www.wallcustance.com. Memorial contributions to the Bruce Trail Conservancy would be appreciated.
