Sandra Joan “Sandy” (Clayton) Percival – 64, of Guelph, Ontario, passed away on October 1, 2025 after her five year battle with lung cancer.
Sandy was surrounded by family and loved ones. She passed away peacefully early afternoon Wednesday.
A big thank you from Sandra’s family to the staff at Hospice in Kitchener for making her last days so beautiful and peaceful! You really do amazing work.
Sandy worked as a welder at Ranger Metal and, in more recent years, as a baker’s assistant at Market Fresh— Wherever Sandy went, she was always kind to neighbours and co-workers and gaining new friends.
She loved creating beautiful quilts, working away on her gardens and treasured time at the family cottage with her daughters, friends and family in Port Elgin.
The light and love of her family, Sandy made every holiday special with her crafting and big dinners. She delighted in hosting gatherings for friends and loved ones, dancing in the kitchen bringing light to every occasion.
Sandy will be deeply missed by her daughters, Laura Clayton and Jennifer Clayton; grandchildren Ben and Rebecca; sister and brother-in-law Catherine and Vance Strickland; and her close lifelong friends Cindy, George, and Mari. She was predeceased by her brother Jim Percival, her parents Shirley and Herbert Percival, and her fiancé Daryl Fyfe.
For those who would like to pay their respects, a visitation will be held at 10:00 am at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Saturday, October 4, 2025 with a service to follow at 11am.
