JARDINE, Sydney (Syd) – With sad hearts we announce the passing of Sydney (Syd) Jardine of Guelph. Syd passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the age of 79. 

Beloved husband of the late Margy Jardine. Loving father of Sally (Alan) Jardine, Anjela Carter (predeceased) and son-in-law Stuart Carter. Dear brother of Cathy Hastie (predeceased), Carol Wrigley (Tony predeceased) and Lenny Jardine.

Syd will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Jason (Autumn), Joseph (Vivi) and Katherine along with nieces, nephews and friends in the UK. Syd will also be fondly remembered by his many adopted Canadian family and friends.

Cremation has taken place and Syd’s family and friends are invited to join in a celebration of his life on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Baker Street Station (76 Baker St, Guelph) between 3:00pm – 8:00pm. Syd was a loyal Liverpool Football Club supporter and Guelph Storm hockey fan. As this is a celebration of Syd, we encourage you to wear your favourite football (soccer)/hockey jersey.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Syd’s name to the Foundation of Guelph General Hospital would be appreciated.

A tree will be planted in memory of Sydney Jardine in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
