W. Bruce Messner

MESSNER, William (Bruce) – Loving husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully at Riverside Glen Retirement Home on July 1st, 2025 in his 91st year.

Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (Betty) Messner (April 2nd, 2025) for 65 wonderful years. Cherished father of Rodney (Brenda) Messner, Nancy (Jim) Donaghy, and Brent (Trina) Messner. Loving grandfather to Patrick Donaghy, Chelsea (Evan) Donaghy, Holt Messner, and Connor (Dominika) Messner. Bruce is pre-deceased by siblings and in-laws Faye (Muriel) Messner and Joyce (Roger) Link.

Bruce was a hard-working man and retired from Golden Triangle Windows after 32 years of service. Bruce was quiet but also fun loving and could tell a good joke. He loved a good card game, enjoyed the family pool and spend many hours in his backyard shop. He lovingly restored two antique cars and was a self-taught master woodworker. He has left a legacy of his craftmanship for family and friends to enjoy.

Bruce and Betty had a wonderful life together and a beautiful love story. We are at peace knowing they are together again.

The family would like to thank Dr. Fewster and his staff for their guidance and help over the last five years. We would also like to thank Riverside Glen Retirement Home (the staff on Edgerton and Emma) for their kindness and care of both our parents.

There will be a memorial visitation on Wednesday, July 16th, 2025 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home and Chapel, 206 Norfolk St. Guelph. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Guelph General Hospital.
