ZINGER, Wayne Gerard –
February 13th,1953 – February 9th,2025
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Wayne Gerard Zinger who left us Sunday February 9th, 2025, at the age of 71, surrounded by his loving family.
He was predeceased by his parents Donald and Eleanor Zinger, and brother Greg Zinger. He is survived by his partner Diane Furlong, his sister Cindy Taylor (Paul), and his sister-in-law Karen Zinger. Along with his three children Amanda Hornick (Jared), Matthew Zinger (Stacie), and Josh Zinger. His grandchildren Emma and Owen Hornick along with Valerie and Nolan Zinger who he truly loved and adored.
Wayne was a man of immense humor and had an unending passion for the outdoors. This passion led him to many hobbies like fishing, hiking, boating, and canoeing. As well as bringing him to his life long calling in Scouting, where Wayne brought this passion for the outdoors and adventure to a generation of young kids. He was always one for a “quick” chat and was always making others laugh. He truly did get to live his life, spending any time he could exploring Algonquin Provincial Park, relaxing at the trailer, spending time on the water, or pursuing many adventures. He also enjoyed playing baseball, where he was a player in an over 30 men’s league for 25 years, actively playing up until he turned 70.
Wayne will be missed by many, and the room will be a little bit quieter without him, yet his spirit will live on through the joyful and inspiring memories he left behind.
A memorial visiting will be held at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 6 – 9 pm. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.
