KERR, Ronald (Ron) George – Born September 17, 1931, in Guelph, Ontario. Passed away suddenly at Guelph General Hospital on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. Beloved and devoted husband of over 60 years to Arlene Isobel (nee Tocher). Committed father to his three sons, Robert, David (Paula) and Scott. Cherished grandfather to Alexander, Benjamin, Kaleigh, and Che. Fondly remembered by his brother Jack Kerr, sister-in-law Barbara Harris (Ken), and brother-in-law Terry McConomy (Patricia). Ron was devoted to his family and doted on his grandchildren. He spent almost 30 wonderful summers with them at his cherished cottage on Riley Lake, where he had endless opportunity to exercise his skills as the ultimate handy-man. No challenge was too big to take on. As a large power transformer designer for almost 40 years with General Electric, and later ABB, in Guelph, Ron built an impressive reputation in a rapidly changing industry. His prodigious talent as a piper was enjoyed by the Guelph Pipe Band for over 25 years. Our sorrow is tempered by the knowledge that he led a long and fulfilling life. He will always be in our hearts. Visitation Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 10 am, and Memorial Service at 11 am, followed by refreshments at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
