CLARK, Douglas McCallum – February 19, 1938 – December 21, 2022
Doug began his career in the investment business while pursuing a passion for elite rowing. He medaled for Canada and embarked on a highly successful professional coaching career. He was named Canada’s Coach of the Year and has worked with some of the top athletes in the rowing world including members of the U.S. and Canadian National Rowing Teams. He also coached crews from University of Pennsylvania, M.I.T. in Boston, Riverside Boat Club in Boston and Upper Canada College in Toronto. Doug’s passion for high performance coaching was transitioned from the coach boat to the Boardroom where he had a profound impact on countless individuals. He nudged the upward trajectory of lives and careers helping many to reach lofty goals by knowing and trusting themselves.
Doug leaves behind his beloved wife of over 45 years, Peggy Buchanan and her family, sisters-in-law, Claire, Patricia, and Susan Buchanan, Patricia Grichen along with nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews; cousins Boak Alexander, Sandra McCallum and Lady Marcia Astor; dear friend Andrea Alexander and many many others who were very close and dear to him.
The family had a small private service and we encourage you to remember and celebrate Doug’s life in your own personal way.
