WRIGHT-GUNDRUM, Heather-Anne Compton – Passed on September 24, 2023 in Guelph, Ontario.
Heather is survived by her children Dawn Elizabeth Gundrum and David Douglas Gundrum (Leanne Presenger), and grandchildren Maxim Presenger Gundrum.
Born in Montreal on November 11, 1947, Heather-Anne was the first and only child of local school-teacher Mrs. Phyllis Wright (nee Perlson). Growing up on Rue de Carpiquet near the Town of Mount Royal, Heather-Anne attended the former Mount Royal High School where she excelled in languages before completing bachelor studies at McGill University in arts and sciences and later, graduate studies in teaching and education.
A school-teacher like her mother before her, Heather-Anne later married her lifelong partner Waldo and spent many happy years with him until his passing in 2018. Always eager for a lively discussion or debate, Heather-Anne enjoyed music, reading and gardening in her spare time and was an active member of her local church and community service clubs where her warmth and caring nature extended to all those around her. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her both young and old and her elaborate dinners and evening gatherings will always hold a special place in the hearts of many friends and family.
A funeral service will be held at Dublin Street United Church of Guelph, 68 Suffolk St W., Guelph on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11:00 am.
Arrangements entrusted to WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com).
Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or Hospice Wellington in Guelph would be appreciated.
