Wendy Monica Govia (nee Camps)
Born October 16th, 1950, in Port of Spain, Trinidad &Tobago, passed peacefully October 7th, 2025, at Guelph General Hospital.
Predeceased by parents Vincent and Jocelyn Camps, and husband Barry Govia. She is survived by her children, Ashlyn, Gordon (Natalina), and Nicole (John), her sisters Charmain, Maureen (the late Mike), and Giselle (Mark), niece Kelly, nephews Rian, Steven, and Todd, grandchildren Myles, Eric, Jeremy, and Ava and great grandchildren Dallas and Carter.
Wendy was known for being fierce and funny, an avid reader with a love for music and dancing. She had the gift of gab, a beautiful smile, and a loving soul that charmed everyone who met her. She loved animals, especially dogs, and always had a treat for them ready. She was intelligent, stubborn, and incredibly strong of character.
She is deeply loved and missed.
Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.
Funeral service will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 409 Paisley Road, Guelph on Thursday, October 16th at 11:00am. With a eulogy beforehand at 10:50am. For those who are unable to attend the service but wish to watch remotely, you can do so by clicking this link. Reception to follow in the church hall.
