Jessie R. S. Fernback

Jessie Ritchie Shiels Fernback – Of Guelph, passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Village of Riverside Glen on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the age of 96.

Born October 18, 1929, in Edinburgh, Scotland to James Anderson and Mary (Shiels). Predeceased by her husband Bob (2019), siblings William (Willie) and Margaret (Margo).

Beloved wife of 64 years to Bob. Mother of Anne and Karen (Michael). Beloved Gran of Marielle and Alec.

She was a quiet, gentle, kind and generous woman. Always polite but had a fiery core and would do anything for her family. She adored her grandchildren immensely and would light up if FaceTiming or taking a picture for them.

The family would like to extend their profound thanks for the care and affection and love provided to Jess, by the staff at Riverside Glen. We truly appreciate and are grateful for the hard work and gentle care they give every day.

And now as she said in her last few days, “Bob and Jess together forever”.
