NORRY, Harold George
May 24, 1961 – February 6, 2026
It is with deep sadness that the family announces the death of an amazing father, brother, son, uncle and business owner, Harold George Norry who passed away at the Guelph General Hospital on February 6, 2026 following a brief illness.
Harold was the loving father of John (Shana) and Emily (Bailey). They were the most important people in his life and he was so very proud of them and their accomplishments.
Harold was born on May 24, 1961 to Robert and Laurel (Dyment) Norry (both pre-deceased). He grew up on a farm in Princeton with his beloved siblings, Kaye Nicholls, R. John (pre-deceased), Elaine (Jeff Hamilton), Mary Ellen (Dwayne Car), Alex (Rita), Donald (Trina) and Ronald (Karen). It was here he learned the importance of family, the value of hard work and where he developed his love of working on and repairing engines. This led to him studying and apprenticing as an auto machinist and finally establishing a business, Engines from Hal where he shared his love and knowledge of engines with clients, co-op students and apprentices.
Harold had a passion for vintage cars, auto racing and airplanes. He volunteered at events held at the Guelph airport and area racetracks. He enjoyed capturing the beauty of nature and auto-related projects as an amateur photographer.
Harold will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by his special friend, Gina and her daughters. Harold considered friends and clients as “family”. A special thank you to his extended “family” Donna and Tim; Norm; Amy; Don; Dave and Carter who helped him over the past few months.
We would like to express our gratitude to Harold’s healthcare team at the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre and the Guelph General Hospital as well as Bayshore Nursing and his PSW and VON workers.
