NORRIE, Ellen M. – Ellen passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, at the age of 63, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Her passing leaves a profound emptiness, but also a lifetime of cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Ellen truly lived life to the fullest. She gave freely and generously, never expecting anything in return. She loved to have fun—whether listening to music, hitting the dance floor, playfully convincing someone to ride the salt and pepper shaker, or simply enjoying the warmth of a fire while spending time with friends. Her laughter, kindness, and joyful spirit were gifts she shared effortlessly.
As an established hair stylist, Ellen built more than a career—she built lasting relationships. Her clients were never just customers; over the years they became dear friends. She valued those connections deeply and was grateful for the many conversations, stories, and friendships formed in her chair.
Above all, Ellen loved her family deeply. Her boys were her pride and joy, and her granddaughter brought her immeasurable happiness. She was a devoted mother, a loving grandmother, and a loyal friend whose presence made life brighter.
Ellen was predeceased by her mother and father, and by her two sisters, Cathy and Cindy. She will be sadly missed by her sons, Steven Royce (Erica), Jason Royce, and Kyle Royce; her beloved granddaughter, Evelyn Royce; her sister, Penny Wilson (Ian); her brother, Mike Norrie; Aunt Lois; along with many extended family members and dear friends.
A special thank you to Dr. Ruddock and his team for the compassion, care, and support they provided Ellen throughout her journey.
At Ellen’s request, a private celebration of life will be held at a later date for immediate family. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.
Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
Ellen’s legacy of love, generosity, and joy will live on through the countless lives she touched. She will forever be remembered as a wonderful mother, a treasured friend, and a beautiful soul.
A tree will be planted in memory of Ellen M. Norrie in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
