Oct.16 ,1956 – Feb.22,2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear brother John MacKeigan on Feb.22, 2026 at the age of 69.
John was born and raised in Guelph and was a proud member of this community he called home his entire life. He was well known for his quick wit, infectious laughter and the way he could brighten a room with his sense of humor.
John owned and operated a Canadian Cab in the late 70’s early 80’s, then became a driver for Guelph Mobility Service and then dedicated 27 years of service as a city bus driver for Guelph Transit. John became a familiar and friendly face to passengers throughout the city. He took pride in his work and in the riders he befriended.
He is survived by his daughter Cassie Singer. Lovingly remembered by his brothers Rod MacKeigan (Andrea) and Ken MacKeigan, and his sister Gwen Taylor (Rob). Proud Uncle to Roddy MacKeigan (Robyn), Ryan Mamaril (Heizl), Alex MacKeigan (Kelly), Laura-Lee MacKeigan, Courtney Taylor-Beck (Adam), Stephanie Taylor (Donnie). Proud Great Uncle to several Grand Nieces and Grand Nephews. John was predeceased by his mother Marie Riggs and his father Albert MacKeigan, and dear sister Sandra MacKeigan.
John will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His laughter and warmth will remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
